Forest Hills Key Food Plan Would Replace It With 11-Story Building
The building will have retail space on the ground floor.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A developer filed plans with the Department of Buildings last week to demolish the Key Food located at 69-65 Yellowstone Blvd.
The Slate Property Group is planning to replace the grocery store with an 11-story building, its representatives told the Real Deal which first reported the story. The building would have 170 rental units and 40,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and lower level.
In May, Slate formed a joint venture with Gross and Grobman families, who own the Key Food building, instead of buying them out, The Real Deal reported. The families also partnered with Slate in the construction of a 114-unit rental building in Clinton Hill last year.
