Forest Hills Lawmaker Hosts Holiday Gift Drive For Homeless Women
Assembly Member Andrew Hevesi of Forest Hills is collecting gift boxes to give to women who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A Forest Hills lawmaker is collecting gift boxes to give to women who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Assembly Member Andrew Hevesi, who has partnered with the Shoebox Project on the holiday drive, is asking for shoeboxes filled with about $50 worth of goods.
Suggested items include scarves, hats, socks, hand warmers, reusable water bottles, grooming products, cosmetics, MetroCards, journals and writing utensils and sweet treats.

Donors should fill a shoebox with the items and a card with an "uplifting note," then wrap the box and drop it off at Hevesi's office at 70-50 Austin St., Suite 118.
