Forest Hills Residents Petition For Speed Bump: Report

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS – Forest Hills residents are calling for a new speed bump on 72nd Street following a series of crashes, according to the Queens Tribune.

More than 350 people have signed the petition launched by Chris Caballero, the report said.

He complained that drivers were using 72nd Avenue as a shortcut between Continental and Metropolitan avenues.

“In the year and a half that I’ve lived there, I’ve seen about 10 accidents,” Caballero was quoted as saying.

He said he hasn't contacted any elected officials, but hopes his petition will get the attention of local pols like Queens Borough President Melinda Katz.

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” Caballero said. “We just want to make sure our streets are a little safer.”
