Forest Hills Son Has A Special Mother's Day Message For His Mom

Patch asked readers to help celebrate Mother's Day with photos and stories of your mothers. Here's one Queens son's heartwarming response.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS -- In honor of Mother's Day, Patch asked readers across the country to send us their own own beloved mothers with photos and shoutouts for a chance to be featured on our site.

While many responded with sweet photos and messages, one Queens son went above and beyond with a heartwarming letter to his mother on her special day.

Marc Berman, of Forest Hills, used his Mother's Day letter to tell his mom, Judy, "how much I love and appreciate all you do for me as my mother," and thank her for being "such a great mom."

He also got personal, noting there was a point where he almost didn't finish high school, but thanks to his mother's help and determination is now now set to graduate with a Regents Diploma.

"(You) have been there and made sure I got through everything and turned it all around," he writes. "No other mother is as special or giving or fights as hard for her son with such tenacity."

Marc ended the heartfelt ode by calling his mother "truly inspirational" and "the strongest person I know."

"I truly love you, my mother," he writes. "There is never a day where I can't go to you, my mom, for love and advice."

Here's the letter in full, with edits for clarity:

Dear mother (Judy)
This letter from your son Marc is to let you know how much I love (and) appreciate all you do for me as my mother.

You are so very loving and giving, always with a smile and a great laugh. You have always been there helping me and advocating for me. You are so thoughtful, making every birthday and holiday special. You know exactly the right thing that makes me laugh. You find special things that no one else finds, and it adds so much humor, making everything very special and with so much humor. Thank you for being such a great mom. I never have to ask twice, as soon as I need anything you are right there with it and you have truly gone above and beyond to help.

I, Marc, almost did not finish school and then you got me set up with home instruction. (You) have been there and made sure I got through everything and turned it all around so that now I am graduating with a Regents diploma. No other mother is as special or giving or fights as hard for her son with such tenacity. I am truly blessed. Thanks for being our mom, and you have always been there for me.

I truly love you, my mother. You are the strongest person I know. You always put my needs before your own, and I can't say how much I appreciate you for that. There is never a day where I can't go to you, my mom, for love and advice. You are truly inspirational how much you sacrifice.

Love and thanks.

Always your son, Marc
