Ice Cream Carts To Visit Queens Dog Parks With Free Frozen Treats
Treat your pooch to a dog-friendly ice cream on Friday at one of these parks in Forest Hills, Long Island City and Willets Point.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS -- Pooches in need of some 'sweet' relief from the summer heat are invited to drag their humans to a Queens dog park for a frozen treat this Friday.
WAG!, an on-demand app that connects pet owners to walkers and sitters, will send fido-friendly ice cream carts to hand out free frozen treats all evening to pooches at three dog parks across the borough, a representative for the company told Patch.
The carts will be stationed at the Underbridge Dog Run in Forest Hills, Torsney/Lou Lodati Playground in Long Island City and Little Bay Dog Run in Whitestone from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, the representative said.

WAG! staff will be serving up Frosty Paws ice cream - a brand made without artificial sugars and flavors that can be toxic to dogs - in original and peanut butter flavors at the parks.
The company will also bring shaded cool-down stations to the parks for dogs to rest in and "stay safe in extreme heat," the representative said.

Temperatures in Queens are forecast to reach into the high 80s on Friday, with a brief afternoon rain slated to be the only chance of interruption to an otherwise blisteringly sunny day, according to the National Weather Service.
