Jade Eatery Supports Community During Tough Time

Jade Eatery and Lounge is helping first responders and others in Forest Hills

Even as restaurants have been economically impacted by COVID-19, one has managed to give back: Jade Eatery and Lounge, an Asian fusion restaurant on Station Square.

Jade has lowered prices during the pandemic and given a discount to online customers purchasing directly from their site, where they have their own delivery service. They have also given free meals to hospitals and to first responders, such as nurses and doctors.

“Everybody’s going through a tough time, but whatever help the community needs, we are there,” Jade owner A. Kumar said.

As New York has reopened, Jade has made use of its large outdoor spaces to serve guests safely. They opened up their outdoor café on June 23, the first week of Phase 2 of reopening, and are soon opening a tea garden in their backyard.

“Maintaining a social distance is not going to be a problem for us,” Kumar said.
