Locally Owned Organic Coffee Shop Celebrates 5 Years of Business
Red Pipe Cafe celebrates 5 years of being a cultural arts center and an advocate for clean eating within the Queens community.

FOREST HILLS, NY -- Vegetarian and organic cafe, Red Pipe Cafe, celebrates 5 years of being a cultural arts center and an advocate for clean eating within the Queens community.
Red Pipe Cafe opened its doors in October 2014 with the mission to inspire others to eat healthier and greener whilst bringing the locals together. Some events the cafe offers for its community are its weekly Tuesday poetry nights and Thursday music nights. The coffee shop also organizes monthly gallery events, where people can meet the local artists behind the art that decorates the cafe.

With a full menu of vegan sandwiches and salads, a coffee bar, and even a selection of wines, the cafe’s been a go-to for locals to catch up on work or catch up with each other. "I usually come here to grab some coffee and hang out with friends or maybe do some school work," said Dominique Manansala, a college student, who sat with her friends alongside the cafe's open door-size windows that overlooked Austin street.

“The cafe’s been through a lot of changes,” said head barista, Hiro Yamao, who’s been with the business for over 3 years. “ Now's the best it’s ever been.”
