London Lennie’s, Local Seafood Eatery, Puts Rumors To Rest

Owners of the famous restaurant address rumors about their closure.

Citizens in the Forest Hills/Rego Park area were distraught when they heard speculation of London Lennie’s Seafood Restaurant closing in May. Les Barnes, the owner, addressed these rumors in a timely manner.

Many loyal customers were ready to say farewell but heard the news that the owners simply wanted to see the worth of their property. Since this raised an uproar, the owners felt as though they had to put the rumors of their closure to a rest.

They reassured their loyal customers that the establishment, built in 1959, will not be going anywhere. “My family and I look forward to sharing traditions and making new memories, with gratitude for your loyalty,” said Lesie Barnes.

For over 60 years, this eatery has held a special place in the hearts of the people of Queens both near and far. Les Barnes, the owner of the fine establishment felt as though it was their duty to continue to serve people the finest and freshest ingredients.

Signature events are the Crabfest for four weeks in October and November, Crawfest for a week in April, and Oysterfest for two weeks in September. These events are known to not only locals but to citizens of Manhattan and even New Jersey.

The sense of community that this restaurant brings cannot be replaced, they will continue to bring warmth to the hearts and stomachs of seafood lovers.
