Man Charged With Assault In Kew Gardens Subway Station Attack

The man is accused of punching a 63-year-old woman in the face, leaving her with fractures, according to the NYPD.

KEW GARDENS, QUEENS — A man was arrested on an assault charge Thursday after the NYPD turned to the public for help finding the person who punched a woman in the face in the Kew Gardens subway station last week.

Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Bronx resident Steve Egharevba, according to a spokesperson.

He is accused of punching a 63-year-old woman on the Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike station's southbound E/F platform the morning of Jan. 27.

The woman suffered facial fractures and was brought to LIJ Forest Hills hospital, police said.
