Man Charged With Robbing, Assaulting Elderly Forest Hills Woman
Police arrested the man they say is responsible for the January mugging that left an 83-year-old Forest Hills woman with a broken elbow.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Police arrested the man they say is responsible for the mugging that left an elderly Forest Hills woman with a broken elbow earlier this year.
A grand jury indicted 20-year-old Bronx resident Alhusene Danso on charges of robbery, assault, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in connection with the Jan. 3 attack, the Queens District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.
The 83-year-old woman was walking along Queens Boulevard near 112th Street that evening when a man jumped out of an SUV and pushed her to the ground, then fled with her purse, according to police and prosecutors.

Inside was her cellphone, ID, a small amount of cash, an ATM card and a credit card.
Danso, 20, was caught on surveillance video later that day trying to use the woman's ATM card at a Bronx bodega, police and prosecutors said.

The attack shattered two bones in the woman's arm, according to prosecutors.
Danso's lawyer did not immediately return a call requesting comment.
