The 63-year-old man succumbed to his injuries a week after a Toyota Corolla knocked him unconscious on Metropolitan Avenue, police say.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS -- A Queens man has died after being hit by a car around the corner from his Forest Hills home, police said.
Hung Ngo, 63, was crossing Metropolitan Ave near 70th Avenue just a block away from his home when a 2013 Toyota Corolla plowed into him on the morning of Jan. 18, cops said.
Ngo, sprawled unconscious in the crosswalk when officers arrived, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in serious condition for "traumatic" injuries, an NYPD spokesman said. But after fighting for his life for more than a week following the crash, Ngo succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 29, cops said.
