New Dental Hygiene Program Coming to Forest Hills
Plaza College is training students to become dental hygienists.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS – A new dental hygiene program is coming to Plaza College in Forest Hills.
The program, debuting in September, will train students to become oral hygienists and provide care to community members.
“There is a well-documented need for oral healthcare prevention and treatment for patients of all ages, particularly the diverse population in the borough of Queens,” program director Dr. Laura Sleeper told QNS.com.

“Our program will not only train high-quality hygienists to fill the voids in the workforce, but it will also provide oral healthcare services through student hygienists in our community clinic.”
Students will train at the Plaza College Community Dental Clinic, which will offer services to the public. The colleges is located on Queens Boulevard near the Jackie Robinson Parkway.

“The participation of the community members is essential to the success of the students,” program consultant Dr. Burton Wasserman was quoted as saying. “It’s a no-brainer – a win-win for everyone involved.”
