New Documentary Film Profiles Owner Of Forest Hills' Cinemart
"The Projectionist," which premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, tells the story of independent movie theater owner Nicolas Nicolaou.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — The owner of Forest Hills' Cinemart movie theater steps in front of the camera for a change as the subject of the upcoming documentary "The Projectionist."
The film details the life of one of New York City's last independent movie theater owners: Nicolas "Nick" Nicolaou, who operates the Cinemart on Metropolitan Avenue as well as Manhattan’s Cinema Village and Bay Ridge’s Alpine Cinemas.
The documentary, by director Abel Ferrara, premiered in 2019 at Tribeca Film Festival and will be screened exclusively in arthouse cinemas as they reopen, according to IndieWire.
