New French Rotisserie Chicken Spot Opens In Forest Hills

La Rotisserie Du Coin is the brainchild of a French couple homesick for the traditional rotisserie chicken they had in France.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A new, fast-casual eatery specializing in French rotisserie chicken opened in Forest Hills.

La Rotisserie Du Coin is the brainchild of French couple Jimmy and Sonia Arouche, who were homesick for the traditional rotisserie chicken they had in France — smothered with butter and spices, then cooked for an hour on a turning spit until the bird's skin turns crispy and golden-brown.

At the couple's new Parisian-style eatery at 107-10 71st Rd., that rotisserie technique forms the foundation of a menu of roasted chicken meals, sandwiches, crepes, salads and soups made from ingredients imported from France.

"Jimmy and I decided to open La Rotisserie du Coin when we realized we weren’t able to find any rotisserie chicken that we used to find on every corner back home in France," Sonia Arouche, who also designed the eatery, said. "Our goal is for our customers to take a trip to France when they walk in our doors."
