NYC High Schooler Pulls Razor Blades From Hairdo, Slashes Fellow Student: Reports
Four people were hospitalized after a slashing Monday at a small high school in Queens.
KEW GARDENS, QUEENS — An unidentified 17-year-old girl smuggled razor blades onto her North Queens Community High School campus Monday by tucking them into her hairdo, then used them to slash a fellow student and others who tried to break up the fight, according to multiple news reports.
The NYPD confirmed to Patch that one 17-year-old girl at the school attacked another 17-year-old girl around noon Monday.
"The victim said the suspect grabbed her by the hair and hit her, causing injuries and swelling and scratches to her face," a police spokesman said.

"We were switching classes and it just happened out of nowhere," student Dylan Piccininni told ABC7. "One teacher was holding four girls back."
The school went on a brief lockdown during the fight, according to ABC7.
The girl who allegedly started the fight was arrested and issued a "desk appearance ticket" for assault, which is less severe than a criminal charge, an NYPD spokesman said.
School police told DNAinfo that North Queens Community High does not scan students when they arrive to campus.
The NYC Department of Education, as well as the school's principal and parent coordinator, did not immediately respond to Patch's requests for comment.
