NYPD Investigating Anti-Semitic Graffiti In Forest Hills

The NYPD is investigating the graffiti found Wednesday in Forest Hills as a "possible bias incident," officials and news reports say.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — The NYPD is investigating anti-Semitic graffiti found Wednesday in Forest Hills as a "possible bias incident," according to local officials and news reports.

A crude reference to sex acts being performed on Jewish women was spray-painted on the fence of a home on the Grand Central Parkway service road between 68th Road and 68th Drive.

Police told the Queens Post that the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the graffiti as a “possible bias incident.”

Assembly Member Daniel Rosenthal said he was alerted to the graffiti Wednesday morning, though it's unclear when exactly it appeared.

"Anti-Semitism is not new to our community but we must stand united and with one voice declare that there is no room for it," Rosenthal said in a statement. "The scourge of anti-Semitism and hate must be combated at every level.

The homeowner told QNS.com, “It disturbs us to know that our home was used to disseminate hate."

Volunteers from Queens Shmira and Chaverim of Queens have since painted over the graffiti, photos posted on Twitter show.
