QUEENS, NY — Traffic is partially blocked along the northbound Van Wyck Expressway in Central Queens after a car flipped over midday Wednesday, according to city and state traffic alerts.

The crash happened about 11 a.m. near Exit 12 and blocked the center and left lanes of the highway, according to FDNY officials and 511NY, the state's official traffic information service.

New York City's official emergency notification system warned of northbound traffic delays on the Van Wyck near Jewel Avenue as of 11:30 a.m.

One person was injured and brought to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital, a Fire Department spokesperson said.
