Planet Fitness To Open New Gym On Queens Boulevard

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Planet Fitness is poised to open a gym on Queens Boulevard.

Members of Queens Community Board 6 on Wednesday approved a permit for the fitness chain to open a gym in a new mixed-use building at 107-02 Queens Boulevard, just outside the Forest Hills-71st Avenue subway station and MacDonald Park.

Plans for the 10-story residential building paved the way for the demolition of the restaurant Caffe Biu Bella and stores such as Party World, the Forest Hills Post reported in 2016, when plans were first filed for an 8-story office building.

New permits were filed in 2018.

The Bayside-based RJ Capital Holdings is developing the property.
