Queens is a very diverse borough where there are people from all over the world representing many different cultures and personalities. There are 138 different languages spoken in Queens. While living in Queens you can’t help but notice how all these cultures intermingle and people from one culture try out new traditions from another. The Lonely Planet stated that “nowhere is the image of New York as the global melting pot truer than Queens.” This exhibition explores the individual experience of immigrant artists living and working in Queens.
The exhibition is showing until Sunday, June 30th, 2019 with closing event, Artist Talk: Queens - thru the eyes of immigrants, at Yant Art Space.
