Queens Borough President Launches Winter Coat Donation Drive

The Office of the Queens Borough President launched a coat drive Friday to help Queens residents stay warm this winter.

KEW GARDENS, QUEENS — The Office of the Queens Borough President is helping the borough's residents bundle up this winter.

Acting Queens Borough President Sharon Lee launched a borough-wide coat drive Friday to support families in need as temperatures start to drop.

The donation drive, organized in partnership with all 14 Queens community boards, will collect new coats for adults and children in the lobby of Queens Borough Hall and at select community board offices across the borough through Nov. 13.

"Need continues to grow in the ongoing pandemic, and with rising economic insecurity, so many are bracing for increasingly tough decisions," Lee said in a statement. "In times of great need, however, Queens always pulls through, and we are in this together. If you are able, please consider donating new, warm coats — either for adults or children — as the Borough of Families gears up for the winter months ahead."

  • Queens Borough Hall, 120-55 Queens Bouelvard in Kew Gardens: Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
