Queens College Earns National Ranking For Social Mobility
Queens College earned national recognition for its success propelling students from low-income backgrounds into well-paying jobs.

KEWS GARDENS HILLS, QUEENS — Queens College has earned national recognition for its success in promoting social mobility, propelling students from low-income backgrounds into well-paying jobs after graduation.
The college was ranked eighth nationwide on CollegeNET's 2020 Social Mobility Index.
The ranking measures a college or university's effectiveness in educating economically disadvantaged students and graduating them into well-paying jobs, according to a news release.

Baruch College, which snagged the top spot on the list, was the only New York City institution to rank higher than Queens College.
Hunter College came in just below Queens College at ninth place.

“It comes as no surprise that when it comes to economic mobility, Queens College—now in its eighty-third year of serving the people of New York—is making a larger impact than virtually every other college in the country,” Queens College President Frank H. Wu said. “When our students—rich in ambition, talent, and creativity—are given the advantage of a high-quality, world-class faculty, they become the backbone of our city and state workforce.”
Nearly 1,450 institutions across the United States were included in the rankings, according to a news release.
