Queens Motorcyclist Dies Following Rego Park Collision: Police
A Queens motorcyclist died Sunday, the day after he hit a pedestrian in Rego Park and left her in critical condition, police said.
REGO PARK, QUEENS — A Queens motorcyclist died at the hospital Sunday, a day after crashing into a pedestrian in Rego Park and leaving her in critical condition, according to police.
Maspeth resident Daniel Fernandez Torres, 27, was speeding down Woodhaven Boulevard on a 2007 Suzuki Colt motorcycle Saturday night when he ran a red light at Dry Harbor Road and slammed into a woman in the crosswalk, police said in a news release.
The impact knocked the woman to the pavement and she hit her head, according to police.

Fernandez Torres and his motorcycle slid across the boulevard and came to a stop on the other side, and he fell to the ground.
EMS rushed him and the pedestrian, a 43-year-old woman, to Elmhurst Hospital, where she is still in critical condition, police said Wednesday.
