REGO PARK, QUEENS — A Russian-Uzbek restaurant in Rego Park made it onto a list of essential city spots to try this summer.

Cheburechnaya is one of 38 eateries that made it onto Eater's list of where to eat in New York City this season — what the food news outlet calls "an elite collection of restaurants from across the city that define New York City’s dining scene right now."

Cheburechnaya was founded in 2002 by two brothers from Tajikistan, who use their grandmother's recipes to make delicacies like chebureki, deep-fried turnovers stuffed with meat and potatoes.
