Rego Park Hotel Bar Cited For Illegal Rooftop Parties

BLVD 93 is accused of hosting boozy, crowded rooftop parties without a liquor license, state officials said Monday.

REGO PARK, QUEENS — A Rego Park hotel bar lost its shot at a liquor license and got slapped with a misdemeanor for hosting boozy rooftop parties this weekend, officials said Monday.

An investigator with the New York State Liquor Authority discovered a couple hundred maskless revelers partying on BLVD 93's rooftop Saturday, in violation of pandemic-related rules on face coverings and social distancing, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office.

Partiers were smoking hookah and getting served alcohol, even though BLVD 93's liquor license was still pending, Cuomo's office said.

The State Liquor Authority denied the bar's liquor license application Monday, and the NYPD issued a criminal summons for warehousing alcoholic beverages without a permit.

BLVD 93, which is housed in the Wyndham Garden Hotel on 93rd Street, has been hosting reservation-only rooftop parties with live DJ music since at least the Fourth of July, according to Instagram posts that have since been deleted.
