Rego Park Panera Adds Grocery Delivery Amid Coronavirus Crisis

REGO PARK, QUEENS — Rego Park's Panera Bread launched a grocery delivery service Wednesday to enable customers to restock their pantries while staying home to help slow the spread of the new coronavirus.

The new service, called Panera Grocery, offers grocery items like milk, bread and fresh produce for contactless pick-up or delivery, according to a news release.

The service will be available at four Panera locations across Queens, including the one at 61-35 Junction Blvd. in the Rego Center, a spokesperson told Patch.

Available items include:

• Freshly baked breads and bagels: classic white loaf, whole grain pan loaf, French baguette, bagel packs
• Skim milk and 2-percent milk gallons (at participating cafes), Greek yogurt, yogurt tubes, plain cream cheese
• Fresh produce: apples, avocados, blueberries, red grapes, tomatoes

“From limited choices on grocery shelves to the growing need to limit the number of trips outside of the home, it is an incredibly stressful time when it comes to putting wholesome food on the table, and we knew Panera could help,” Panera CEO Niren Chaudhary said in a statement.

“With this new service we can help deliver good food and fresh ingredients from our pantry to yours, helping provide better access to essential items that are increasingly harder to come by.”

Customers can place orders by selecting “Panera Grocery” on the Panera app or website, or searching for Panera Grocery items on Grubhub.
