FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Two Forest Hills High School alums are opening a location of the acai bowl and smoothie shop chain SoBol in the neighborhood.
High school friends Tom Aronov and Ben Gil discovered the Long Island-based chain in Floral Park, where they were working together in real estate, according to a press release.
The duo signed on as franchisees and are slated to open their SoBol location at 110-48 Queens Blvd. during Memorial Day weekend.

"We fell in love with the acai bowl and felt that with such a great product and brand, it was just a matter of time until it would make its way to Forest Hills," the duo said in a statement. "We figured why wouldn't we be the guys who bring it there. We were raised in Forest Hills, lived in Forest Hills, it just looked like the perfect decision."
SoBol has two other Queens locations — one on Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria and a newly-opened location in the Bay Terrace Shopping Center.
