REGO PARK, QUEENS -- A 49-year-old woman plunged to her death after jumping out of a Rego Park apartment building on Thursday morning, police said.

Police arrived to the apartment complex between 63rd Road and 99th Street at around 1o:30 a.m. after receiving multiple calls about a person preparing to jump from the building, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

By the time officers got there, the woman had already leapt from the sixth floor of the building and was laying unconscious and unresponsive nearby, cops said. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene.
