Applications Still Open for 150 Affordable Downtown Brooklyn Apartments

FORT GREENE and BOERUM HILL, BROOKLYN — Applications are still being accepted for 150 affordable apartments at Hub, a new building located at 333 Schermerhorn St., right on the border of Boerum Hill and Fort Greene.

The building's amenities include a 24/7 concierge, a gym, a pool, a club room, a children’s play room and a common terrace (though additional fees apply to everything except the concierge).

Here's a breakdown of the units that are available:

• 46 studio apartments are renting for $833 per month, and are open to single households making between $29,898 and $38,100 annually
• 85 one-bedroom apartments are renting for $895 per month, and are open to households of one or two people making between $32,058 and $43,500 annually.
• 19 two-bedroom apartments will rent for $1082 per month, and are available for households of 2-4 people making between $38,503 and $54,360 annually.

Applications will be accepted until Dec. 15.

Community Board 2 residents will receive preference when filling half of the units, while municipal employees will receive preference for when filling 5 percent of them.

Those will mobility disabilities will receive 5 percent of the apartments, and those with visual and hearing disabilities will receive 2 percent.
