Amsterdam Startup Incubator to Create 500 Jobs at Brooklyn Navy Yard
The Brooklyn Navy Yard will soon be home to B. Amsterdam, a startup incubator pledging to bring 500 new jobs with it.

BROOKLYN NAVY YARD — B. Amsterdam is the latest startup incubator headed to the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
The company's future 100,000 square-foot space, announced Wednesday, will create about 500 living-wage jobs, according to the city.
Work on B. Amsterdam's new facility will likely begin early next year. Once completed, the company says its space will serve as a launch pad for early and mid-stage European startups that are seeking to expand into the American market. The incubator also says it will help local entrepreneurs build relationships with European clients.

The deal is the latest in a series of such developments marking the Brooklyn Navy Yard as a startup destination. The Yard operates in the footprint of a former U.S. military facility established in 1801 and utilized through 1966, when it began to fall into disrepair. Today over 300 businesses employ 7,000 workers at the Navy Yard.
