DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY — The application period began this week for 29 affordable apartment rentals in the Red Apple building in downtown Brooklyn, with below-market-rate one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments available to applicants. The 32-story development at 86 Fleet Pl. between Myrtle Avenue and Willoughby Street has studios that are going for as little as $833 per month and one-bedrooms for as low as $895 per month.

The building, designed by Goldstein, Hill & West Architects, comes with several luxurious amenities like a children's playroom, laundry room, roof deck, gym, room for parties and bike storage. Preference for half of the apartments will go to members of Brooklyn Community Board 2.
