Coming to Fort Greene: Yoga, Employment Fair, Public Safety Town Hall and More
Fort Greene will have a series of public events in September including the Labor Day Parade, yoga sessions, public saftey, and job fair

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — This September a series of public events are taking place in Fort Greene. See the following list for a quick overview:
- March in the 2016 Labor Day Parade with NYC Council Member Cumbo Monday Sept. 5, at 9:30 a.m., beginning at Eastern Parkway and Buffalo Avenue. Signup with Jasmine Coello by calling (718) 260-9191.
- Council Member Cumbo presents the 35th Community Jamboree at Fort Greene Park Saturday, Sept. 10, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m., at Myrtle Avenue and North Portland Avenue, where "people of all ages and abilities are invited for a day of fitness, health, wellness, fun, and giveaways."

- An NYC Parks Public Safety Town Hall will address this summer's string of attacks and how to stay safe when enjoying the outdoors in the city. The town hall event takes place Thursday, Sept. 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Union Temple of Brooklyn. Co-hosts include: Council Member Laurie Cumbo, Council Member Stephen Levin and Council Member Mathieu Eugene. Organizers encourage attendees to "bring ideas and concerns" to help think creatively about public safety for NYC parks.

- An trades training and employment event will take place on Wednesday Sept. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Ingersoll Community Center located at 177 Myrtle Avenue. Recruiters will be on-site seeking new employees for an array of trades including carpentry, plumbing, data entry, and administration careers; people all skill levels are welcome.
