Jeffries, Clarke Endorse Thompson for Brooklyn D.A.

At a press conference Monday at Brooklyn's Borough Hall, Reps. Clarke and Jeffries cited Ken Thompson's record standing up to powerful forces.

Citing his leadership and commitment to fighting injustice, Brooklyn Congressmembers Yvette Clarke and Hakeem Jeffries yesterday endorsed former federal prosecutor Ken Thompson for Brooklyn District Attorney, according to a joint statement.

"I have known Ken Thompson for almost 20 years. He is the right man, with the right plan, at the right time for Brooklyn District Attorney," said Rep. Hakeem Jeffries in the release.

"Ken Thompson has stood up for our communities as a prosecutor and as a lawyer in private practice, there is no doubt he will stand up for us as D.A.," added Clarke. "From reforming stop and frisk to keeping our streets safe, we need new leadership and new energy to bring change for the people of Brooklyn. Ken Thompsonis the fighter we need."

The candidate expressed gratitude for the support of his colleagues and said he considers them partners in "the fight for equal justice for all New Yorkers."
