Netflix Brings Free "Gilmore Girls" Coffee to Fort Greene

Brooklyn coffee shops will transform into Luke's Diner and serve free coffee on Wednesday in honor of Netflix's "Gilmore Girls" reboot.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — The television series "Gilmore Girls" turns 16 this week, and in celebration of the upcoming Netflix reboot, Brooklyn cafes will be serving free cups of coffee under the show's Luke's Coffee guise.

On Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., Brooklyn Roasting Company located at 200 Flushing Ave., across from the Brooklyn Navy Yard, will serve its first 250 customers free 12-ounce cups of coffee.

Approximately 250 cafes nationwide are participating in the Netflix promotion, including three cafes in Brooklyn.

Luke's Diner is where "Gilmore Girls" characters Rory and Lorelai go to meet and socialize, and where they often trade jabs with the famously moody Luke.
