Putnam's Pub Reopens Tuesday, Ahead Of Schedule
The beloved neighborhood bar and restaurant that suffered a massive fire in February opened its doors to the public Tuesday, despite snow.
FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — After a fire that put it out of business for a month, Putnam's Pub & Cooker reopened its doors on Tuesday, even amidst the snow and hail that bombarded Brooklyn.
The popular neighborhood bar and restaurant opened at 4 p.m. with its renovations complete.
On Valentine's Day, Putnam's suffered a fire that completely ruined the infrastructure and interior and shut the restaurant down for weeks. It suffered damage to all of its electrical systems, heat and air conditioning systems, plumbing and furniture, its owner Gerry Rooney told Patch. Every television and speaker was destroyed, and the majority of the furniture had to be replaced.

Rooney said restaurant staff members worked overtime to make sure the rebuilding process would move as quickly as possible.
"It was just a complete accident, and we want to thank the local community for all the support that we've received," Rooney said. "It really does make a difference. And that's not even bulls---t, 'cause I'm a pretty real kinda guy."

Fort Greene, feel free to grab a beer and get away from all this slushy half-baked blizzard substance.
