Century 21 Opens in Downtown Brooklyn

Century 21 was the first retailer to open in the new City Point complex in Downtown Brooklyn on Tuesday. Trader Joes and Target will follow.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — In a glimpse of what's to come to Downtown Brooklyn, clothing retailer Century 21 opened for business inside the City Point shopping complex on Tuesday.

The new two-story Century 21 store — located at 445 Albee Square West, off Fulton Street — opened for the first time on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at noon. Gifts valued up to $500 were handed out to the store's first 250 customers.

Target is planning to open at City Point later in 2016, while a 2017 opening is planned for a host of other businesses — including Trader Joes, the Austin-based Alamo Draft House Cinema, Han Dynasty and Fortina. Then there's the DeKalb Food Market, a 26,000-square-foot food market that will host over 50 vendors.

The new development is located a few blocks from the DeKalb Avenue subway station (B, D, N, Q and R trains) and the Fulton Street subway station (2 and 3 trains).
