The Weekend Tip: Maximize Your Community Garden Harvest

Advice on how to get the most out of those summer-fattened veggies.

1. So you've planted those vegetable seeds in spring and watched the plants blossom, grow and swell in summer... now what? With autumn almost upon us, check out  for volunteer-led groups and individuals interested in learning about harvesting vegetables for the good of the entire community. Classon Ful-Gate Community Garden, Classon Avenue at Madison Street. Sat., 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Free.

2. Complimentary classes will be held showcasing two yoga disciplines led by seasoned yoga instructors as part of , a four-hour, weekend day event of yoga, well-being, and hair care activities. Fort Greene Park, Prison Ship Martyrs Monument. Sat., 12:30 p.m. Free. 

3. by Robert Wilson, Philip Glass and Lucinda Childs offers chillingly creative music that morphs time. Part of BAM's Next Wave Festival. Brooklyn Academy of Music, 30 Lafayette Ave. Sat., 7 p.m.; Sun., 3 p.m. Single ticket price starts at $40.

4. Every third Sunday of the month through October, the NYC Food Truck Association brings New York's . Grand Army Plaza. Sun., 11 a.m. Free.

5. Loosely based on the classic, "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod,"  blends shadow puppetry, projection, and physical theatre to for very young audiences (ages 0-5) and adults alike. South Oxford Space, 138 S. Oxford St. Sun., 4 p.m. Children, free; Adults, $20.
