Vigil Tuesday for Family of Child Killed in Fort Greene Crash

Remembrance will be held at Clermont and DeKalb avenues.

There will be a vigil held Tuesday night at 7 p.m. for the family of Lucian Merryweather, the 9-year-old boy killed in a car accident in Fort Greene Saturday.

The vigil was organized by the office of City Councilwoman Letitia James, whose district includes the corner where the accident occurred.

James tweeted her condolences over the weekend, and announced the vigil via her feed on Monday.

The vigil will be held at the corner of Clermont Avenue and DeKalb Avenue.

Merryweather was killed Saturday when an SUV jumped the curb and struck four people, injuring three others.

The driver has been charged with criminally negligent homicide, among other charges.
