4,000 Feet Of National Grid Gas Mains Replaced Glen Cove

The gas main replacement is meant to make the utility's networks safer and more reliable for customers.

GLEN COVE, NY — Utility workers have replaced thousands of feet of gas mains in Glen Cove as part of an effort to modernize National Grid networks. A resident this week used Patch's neighbor post feature to alert fellow residents that workers had torn up Landing Road as part of a project.

The city and National Grid confirmed to Patch on Friday the utility was performing work in the area. The gas main replacement is meant to make the utility's networks safer and more reliable for customers.

"We replaced approximately 4,000 feet of main on Landing Rd (from Margaret St to Hill St) and on Rose Ave, Maryland Ave, and Midge St," a National Grid spokeswoman wrote in an email.
