Arbor Day Planting Ceremony In Glen Cove

A special tree planting ceremony for Arbor Day will be held at the Glen Cove Christmas Tree Farm on Friday, April 27.

“Each year, five evergreen trees from the Glen Cove Merry Tree Festival are planted at the Tree Farm on Arbor Day to beautify the park and to nurture trees that will be used for future City of Glen Cove marquee Christmas Trees,” Darcy Belyea, Glen Cove Parks & Recreation Director, said in a press release.

Other “Merry” trees will be planted throughout the spring at different Glen Cove parks and City facilities.

Arbor Day is a national holiday that encourages people to plant and grow their own trees to enhance their environmental and sustainability footprint.

The Glen Cove Christmas Tree Farm is located at Dennis Brian Murray Park on Leech Circle South.
