GLEN HEAD, NY--Casey, 5-year-old female black, brown and white brindle pitbull mix, recently lost her foster home. The Nassau County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals announced it is desperately searching for a new home for her.

The NCSPCA describes Casey as "extremely smart, funny and sweet. She loves finding comfy spots to lay on, especially ones where she can soak up the sun." She is a special needs dog who requires the use of diapers and a cart to walk, but the NCSPCA expects it to be temporary. Casey was found last December by a Nassau County SPCA detective in the Glen Head home of Gregory Bagwell, 70. The dog had little to no use of her hind legs, as well as a large open sore on her left rear leg.

Casey is currently learning to walk again with the use of the cart, known as her "chariot," seen in a video posted by the NCSPCA.
