City Of Glen Cove To Host 'Spring Egg Hunt To-Go'

Glen Cove Spring Egg Hunt To-Go Hopes to Bring Smiles to Young Faces

Glen Cove, NY, April 1, 2020.… Due to the current stay-at home order, the City of Glen Cove’s Spring Egg Hunt has been cancelled. As an alternative to this annual tradition sponsored by the Glen Cove Parks & Recreation Department, families are offered “Egg Hunt To-Go” kits so that children and families can still have a grand time filling their baskets with candy-filled plastic eggs within the safety of their own homes or yards.

“Egg Hunt To-Go” kits have been created while respecting all safety measures. They will be delivered to doorsteps on Saturday, April 11 by gloved helpers from the Glen Cove Anglers Club. Kits will include a greeting, coloring sheet and a dozen peanut-free candy-filled eggs.

“Each year our team looks forward to the hunt and chase of over 10,000 colorful goodie-filled eggs across the lower fields of City Stadium. We hope to bring smiles to the faces of local children during unprecedented times, so they can still enjoy the fun of finding the eggs and filling their baskets to the brim within the safety of their own homes,” Darcy Belyea, Parks & Recreation Director, said in a press release.

Glen Cove residency is required. Parents of children ages three to ten years old are invited to participate for free by emailing your address and number of children in the household to Dbelyea@glencoveny.gov , or by leaving this information in a message at 516-676-3766 or on the City of Glen Cove Facebook page. Kits are limited to the first 650 respondents.
