Deep Roots Farmers Market begins June 5th
The Sea Cliff Farmers Market has a new name and a new home! Beginning June 5th the Deep Roots Farmers Market will be at 100 Garvies Point Rd

The pandemic brought about a lot of changes for many people and for many businesses as well and the Sea Cliff Farmers Market was no exception. Last March, the indoor market shut down. As farmers markets were deemed essential businesses and we starting making plans for reopening outdoors in Spring. We already had plans to move from the courtyard at St. Luke's Episcopal Church to St. Boniface Church's big field on Sea Cliff Ave due to space constraints as the market had grown and space was getting tight. Unfortunately come June, the folks at St. Boniface Church changed their mind about hosting the market there, and we had to scramble to find another location. Thankfully, one of our regular vendors, Nicky Horman of Horman's Best Pickles kindly offered the use of the parking lot at their pickle factory on Garvies Point Rd in Glen Cove. It was large enough for us to operate safely under COVID guidelines. As the season progressed, more people found us and we ended up having a great season. In the fall, the Market entered into an agreement with RXR Realty to rent an empty retail space in the new Village Square Apartment building for the indoor winter market, where we were able to accommodate as many as 20 vendors. For this year's outdoor season, The Market has an agreement with RXR Realty to utilize a parking lot and park space on the west side of the Beacon Condominiums, and this will be the new home for the newly named Deep Roots Farmers Market.
For our loyal Sea Cliff customers who were hoping we would come back to Sea Cliff: Unfortunately, there just is no space large enough for us - we have grown way beyond what any space in Sea Cliff will accommodate, particularly with COVID regulations. The commercial area is too small and the Village is prohibitive about what they will permit in residential areas. Glen Cove has much more opportunity space-wise and RXR's willingness to partner with us will allow us to continue to grow. We are on track to have over 30 wonderful vendors participating this summer! There's a lot happening on Glen Cove Creek - Garvies Point Brewery, the promenade, marinas, boat ramps, kayak launch, a dog park and now the Deep Roots Farmers Market! We hope you will join us Saturday mornings - 9 AM to 1 PM (Rain or shine) June 5th through October 30th. 100 Garvies Point Rd., Glen Cove.
