Family Seeks Help Finding Missing Glen Cove Man

Nunzio Izzo last seen night of Dec. 17; family worried he is without seizure medication.

The family of a missing 56-year-old Glen Cove man is asking for the community's help in locating him.

Nunzio Izzo was last seen getting into a yellow cab in front of a friend's home on Madeline Pl. in Glen Cove on Monday, Dec. 17. He had been visiting there, said his brother-in-law, Anthony Bocchino.

Izzo suffers from medical conditions including epilepsy and takes medication to prevent seizures.

Bocchino said possible destinations for Izzo are limited. He had a few regular haunts around town, and he isn't able to walk very far due to a condition affecting his feet. He relies on cabs because he can't drive.

"He's a creature of habit," Bocchino said. "Friend's house, Dunkin' Donuts, 7-Eleven, that's it."

Izzo lives with his mother and has a girlfiend in East Meadow, but she said she hasn't heard from him since Dec. 15.

Bocchino said the family is not aware of any reason why Izzo might have strayed from his beaten path. He's a "regular guy" who is friendly with area cab drivers who he has gotten to know from his movements around town.

Glen Cove and Nassau County Police have been working the case, and a Silver Alert was issued.

Bocchino said Izzo's iPhone was last picked up in the vicinity of Forest Ave. in Glen Cove on Dec. 18.
