Free 'KidPix' ID Card Program to Be Offered in Glen Cove

KidPix cards allow law enforcement officials to better identify and locate the child if they ever go missing.

Parents can get a free “KidPix” photo identification card for their child in Glen Cove next month as part of an effort to protect children.

If a child goes missing, parents can present the KidPix card to law enforcement officials to better identify and locate the child. These "KidPix" ID cards include a picture, fingerprint, contact information, date of birth, physical description and gender of the child.

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Glen Cove Mayor Reginald Spinello have partnered to bring this program to the Glen Cove Public Library, located at 4 Glen Cove Ave., on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

“County Executive Mangano and I offer this potentially lifesaving program for Glen Cove children and families,” Spinello said in a press release. “Whenever a child goes missing every second can count, and the KidPix card helps law enforcement save valuable time.”

Nassau County children of all ages can participate in the KidPix program. The photos and fingerprints will be processed on-site and families will be able to take their KidPix cards home with them.
