GCHS Inducts 37 New Social Studies Honor Society Members

Glen Cove, N.Y. — The Glen Cove City School District recently inducted 37 new members into the Glen Cove High School Chapter of the Social Studies Honor Society, Rho Kappa, advised by Ms. Danielle Corrigan, in recognition of these students demonstrated excellence in social studies as well as overall academic achievement.

Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society is a national organization for high school students that recognizes excellence in the field of social studies. Rho Kappa provides opportunities for exploration in the social studies and promotes civic engagement within the school and community.

Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society was established by the National Council for the Social Studies in December, 2011 and is the only national organization that recognizes high school juniors and seniors for excellence in the field of social studies. Students inducted have demonstrated exemplary character and citizenship through district-wide and building-wide activities and participate in volunteer services to better the school and local community.

This year’s inductees are Shellsie Avelar Sorto, Carter Beckhard-Suozzi, Caitlin Callahan, Gabrielle Callahan, Arianna Farro, Kahley Gambino, Sofia Garcia, Kenneth Gavino, Lindsay Gavino, Caralena Genova, Denis Granados Canales, Aisling Greene, Elana Greim, Delmy Henriquez Arriaga, Melissa Herrera, Lily Hoffman, Addison Huvane, Sarah Israel, Allaina James, Allyna James, Alessandra Juarez, Isabella Juarez, Jennifer LaRocca, Dana Levy, Teresa Melfi, Rehiya Naqvi, Stephanie Reilly, Grace Spoto, Evelyn Sullivan, Brooke Tran, Leyla Turcios, Reed Weimer, Van Weinstein, Douaa Ahmed, Christie Annunziato, Alex Beckhard- Suozzi, and Melanie Farro.
