Glen Cove Boys Basketball Captures Second Bob Morrison Classic Trophy
The team entered the new year 8-1.

The Glen Cove High School boys basketball team defeated Oceanside, 59-53, to capture its second straight Bob Morrison Classic trophy at the Great Neck North Holiday Tournament.
Nedi Romero led all scorers with 26 points, hitting four clutch 3-point shots and going 6-8 from the free throw line. Kevin Ernest had 7 of his 18 points in the final period with two clutch free throws with 90 seconds left to play.
Glen Cove is off to a great start this season entering the new year 8-1. The team finished its nonleague record 7-0, hoping to build off that momentum as league play begins.

Varsity coach Peter Falen said, “The team’s tough nonleague schedule hopefully gets them ready to play crucial games in January and February.”
The boys continue league play with games against Plainedge and county contender Floral Park the week of Jan. 3.
