Glen Cove City School District Honors Their Frontline

Board Members, Faculty, and Staff were Recognized for Their Dedication during the Pandemic

Glen Cove, N.Y. - The Glen Cove City School District Board of Education, educators and support staff members were all honored at last week's Board meeting at Glen Cove High School. Superintendent Dr. Maria Rianna thanked Board members that finished their terms and faculty for their commitment to the safety and health of students and staff throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The last 16 months have impacted us in so many ways," said Dr. Maria Rianna, Superintendent of the Glen Cove City School District. "Despite the uncertainty that the pandemic brought, we were still called to serve our community and it would not be fitting if we did not acknowledge the work that has gone on this past school year from our dedicated faculty and board members, a few of which are departing from their positions on the Board. Our District will forever be grateful for your service and commitment to our students.”

Three individuals that completed their term on the Board of Education were recognized for their distinguished years dedicated to serving the students of the Glen Cove City School District. Gail Nedbor-Gross, Rose Selesky, and Mary Murphy were all honored for their time served on the Glen Cove City School District Board of Education. Rose Selesky and Mary Murphy were also given recognition for their devotion to the community as former teachers and administrators as well.
