Glen Cove Coronavirus: Annual Easter Service To Be Held Virtually
The public is invited to participate virtually in the 4th annual Glen Cove Community Easter Dawn Service.

GLEN COVE, NY—The public is invited to “virtually” participate in the 4th Annual Community Easter Dawn Service. The bilingual service will be streamed in English and Spanish starting at 7 a.m. via Facebook Live on Easter morning. The event is hosted by the Committee for the Community Easter Dawn Service, which is based in Glen Cove.
Committee members said they had originally hoped to livestream the service from Morgan Park at the standard location; however, with public parks closed due to the coronavirus, live streaming of the service will instead take place on private property just outside the gates of the park.
Because of the proximity of the property, those who have come to enjoy the sound of the bagpipes played by Robert Lynch, which open the service, will still have this opportunity. The message of Easter will be shared by local clergy, and all will be invited to participate in the hymns and responses via Facebook Live, the committee said. The public is asked to stay home and not attend in person, but to participate virtually.

In preparation for the service, all are asked to join the Glen Cove Community Easter Dawn Service Facebook page, where links will be posted. In addition to the Easter service, there will be a “song-session” on Zoom at 9 a.m. this Saturday morning for all who want to practice together with the hymns which will be sung, and there will be a “Reminder Shout Out” and practice run of the songs and a few of the devotionals on Monday, April 6 at 10 a.m.
Last year more than 200 people attended the Community Easter Dawn Service. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/GlenCoveEaster.
