Glen Cove High School Celebrates the Class of 2021

Glen Cove, N.Y. - The Glen Cove City School District recently welcomed family, friends and the community to the Class of 2021 commencement celebration at Glen Cove High School. During the ceremony, Valedictorian Alan Gansky, Salutatorian Owen Yates, Honorarian Phillip Wlodarczyk, and Class President Jennifer Heman shared inspirational messages with their fellow classmates and encouraged them to be proud of the obstacles they overcame together.

“The Class of 2021 has been challenged in ways no one could ever have imagined,” said Dr. Maria Rianna, superintendent of the Glen Cove City School District. “This group of students embody the character and achievement for which this community is known,” she added. “What you have all collectively had to endure will set you apart from future generations by preparing you for life's uncertainty.”

During the outdoor celebration, each student walked across the stage and was handed their diploma individually, giving family and friends a chance to take photos during this proud moment. Spirits were high and smiles were bright as students were grateful to enjoy a traditional in-person graduation ceremony.

“These students raised the bar in ways beyond just academics,” said Mr. Antonio Santana, principal of Glen Cove High School. “They have set a new standard of excellence for generations to come. I think I speak for the entire community when I say that we look forward to following the accomplishments you all achieve in your future endeavors.”
