Nassau Man Arrested 3rd Time In 2020 After Break-Ins, Thefts
A Nassau County man was arrested last week after a car break-in and theft in Sea Cliff. He's been arrested three times this year.

SEA CLIFF, NY — A Glen Cove man already facing burglary and theft charges in two other cases this year was arrested a third time last week in connection with three break-ins and thefts in Sea Cliff, police said.
Around 1:30 a.m. Friday, an 18-year-old woman heard a car door slam and saw a man running away on Carpenter Avenue, Nassau County police said. An unknown amount of money was missing from her car.
Police said officers arrested Taylor Steed, 24, of Chadwick Street, after determining he was in the area and responsible for the break-in and theft. Investigators later determined he was responsible for a second break-in on Marden Avenue, in which a 62-year-old woman said money and a cell phone was missing, according to police.

Court records showed Steed was arrested in June and September as well on various burglary, theft and trespassing charges.
Steed was arrested June 11 on a felony charge of third-degree burglary and a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny. In that case, he appeared in court the following day and the case was continued with a temporary protection order issued. Steed was not jailed.
Steed was arrested again Sept. 17 on misdemeanor counts of attempted petit larceny and a violation count of criminal trespassing. That case was also continued and Steed was not jailed.
He last appeared in court Nov. 4 stemming from the September case. The Sea Cliff arrest happened three days later.
Steed was also arrested in June 2017 and later pleaded guilty to a petit theft charge in the case. He was accused of violating the terms of his probation four times thereafter in March 2019, September 2019, October 2019 and August 2020.
